In this action adventure tale of historical fiction, players take on the role of Morgan Black and his family, struggling against the hostile wilderness and a mysterious cult that's crept in from Europe. In a series of 24 scenarios divided into three acts, Morgan Black and his descendants help the Aztecs resist conquest by Spanish conquistadors, pit the French against the British in the French and Indian War and help Simon Bolivar lead revolutions in South America.

Age of Empires III has better graphics than any strategy game I've ever played. I don't care for strategy games, but it is great to watch your workers and soldiers do their assignments in high detail.

It has the great play of version II, but updated to colonial times.

New things I like about it:
1:You can set up trading posts with the Indians and build your own Indian army!
2:Special home-city cards can be sent to help you out. (I didn't think I'd like that when I heard about it, but it turned out to be pretty cool.)
3:When people die, their bodies don't rot in graphic detail on the screen.
4:Thanks again to the graphics, tearing down buildings has never been more fun!

In the story part of the game, one character calls another a " B****** "

At its core Age of Empires III is basically like any other RTS.

Fans of the first two should pick it up for sure, and other RTS fans would be smart to do the same.

There are so many new additions in this game that it will boggle your mind. This is one of the best looking games, much less an RTS game, that is out on the market currently.
90

The game meets the bar set by previous games in the series though it doesn’t really revolutionize the genre.

An absolutely fantastic title with superb graphics and tight gameplay. Single-player or multiplayer, no matter what your skill, you'll get hours of joy out of this sucker online or off.
70

The single player campaign is very playable, very enjoyable, and also very long.
88

The unit design and the range of opportunities in both the single player and multiplayer missions will definitely get your strategic juices flowing.
78

Hardcore RTS fans are well catered for. Casual players should look elsewhere. [Christmas 2005, p.98]
