Since the beginning of time, the forces of Order and Chaos have been engaged in an eternal struggle to decide the fate of all Creation. That struggle has now come to the Mortal Realm and neither Man, Demon, nor Angel will be left unscathed. After possessing the body of the hero who defeated him, Diablo resumes his nefarious scheme to shackle humanity into unholy slavery by joining forces with the other Prime Evils, Mephisto and Baal. Only you will be able to determine the outcome of this final encounter. In Diablo II, return to a world of dark fantasy. As one of five distinct character types, explore the world of Diablo II - journey across distant lands, fight new villains, discover new treasures, and uncover ancient mysteries, all in the quest to stop the Lord of Terror, once and for all...

Don't steal, but lie and cheat if necessary. As a gamer, it's your duty to own Diablo II.

We all seem to agree on one thing though; this game rocks!

What Diablo II lacks in visuals, it makes up for in music, as the appropriately selected and highly engaging tunes never fail to live up to the moment and truly serve to immerse the player.

Blizzard has scored again with an object lesson in polish, depth and sheer compelling playability.

Diablo 2 is a very good game. Despite all of its problems, Diablo 2 is as much fun as any action game I’ve ever played and twice as addictive. Play it by yourself, or better yet with a bunch of your friends (just not on a battle.net Realm), and you may find yourself forgetting to eat and sleep. You’ll forget what the sun looks like, and you’ll like it. Diablo 2 is not a RPG; it is not a game with a deep plot that will have you guessing until the end. Diablo 2 is an action packed game where you run around like a wild man (or wild woman) slaughtering any evildoer foolish enough to get in your way. It’s fun, it’s addictive, and you will play until your eyes hurt and you can’t feel your hand from the wrist down. Get over the hype; this is not the second coming. Diablo 2 won’t walk your dog, paint your house, cook, clean, or take out the trash. It’s just a game. It probably won’t change your life, but you will have a good time playing it.

If you are looking for serious role-playing I suggest you look elsewhere, especially if you plan on taking the game online. But as an "RPG-Lite" it's a damn fine game - go pick it up!

These flaws can no one deny, but they can be ignored. The game certainly has something about it and that something is mostly the FMV sequences and pure, logic ridden, action. Diablo I was the Prometheus of its genre, Diablo II most certainly isn't. Anyway it is sure to sell good and play a lot, so this game isn't meant for people who already play the game, nor fro those who plan on buying it ASAP, it's for the weird few who wander: Have I gone insane or has the rest of the world gone berserk after a couple of line of quite average computer code?

While this sequel proceeds from the mantra of bigger being better, you can't help but sense that something was lost by the wayside and that Blizzard, being the stellar developer that they are, should try harder for innovative games. We already know they can do solid games as well or better than the rest, but how about something that shakes up the industry instead of something so dependable that it's a Top Ten hit before it's even finished? That's the GR briefing, at least. You can get back to perpetrating the genocide of evil now.
