In KINGDOM HEARTS, the player experiences the game as Sora, a 14-year-old boy whose world is shattered when a violent storm hits his island-paradise home, and he is separated from his two closest friends, Riku, a 15-year-old boy, and Kairi, a 14-year-old girl. While searching for his friends in a strange and mysterious land, Sora meets Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy who are on a mission to find the King of the Disney Castle, who has also mysteriously disappeared. The three learn of ominous creatures known as the Heartless, who collaborate with Disney villains to realize their devious intentions. Sora, Donald and Goofy join forces to recover Sora?s friends, return the King to his rightful position and save the universe.

The Kingdom Hearts series is amazing. The story line is so unique combining Disney and Final Fantasy characters into one. The game play is also very simple and lets you choose between magic, defence, and attack power at the very beginning.

As frustrating as its flaws can be, the magic at its core always keeps Kingdom Hearts' whole aloft in the imagination, if shy of the heights it should reach. This enchanted kingdom certainly has its flaws, but it's still well worth a visit.

When I bought Kingdom Hearts, I didn’t know what to think, it looked strange and I thought it was a bit childish. After I played for an hour or so, I realised that there was so much more to it. The Disney exterior is just the surface of the game. Overall Kingdom Hearts is a must buy, for RPG or action fans, or if your unsure and want a new game, pick this one up. Kingdom Hearts is a game you really have to experience yourself, and I finally have a game that combines my inner child and outer gamer harmoniously.

The sounds, gameplay, and controls (except the camera), are as good as most other games in the genre and Kingdom Hearts stands out as a great RPG. It may not rival the grand stories of some past Final Fantasy’s or even some of the better Disney movies; however, it is a fine game that manages to combine each company’s strengths in a tapestry that is a joy to behold and an even greater one to play.

Tedious game play aside though, this title looks fantastic, is presented beautifully and will be very popular. Never have the Disney characters looked so good, it’s just a crying shame it’s not as much fun to play as it is to watch.

Considering that the games concept had me in its pocket from the get-go, Square really went above and beyond the call of common sense and good taste by systematically destroying every element of the gameplay. Kingdom Hearts is one of those rare games that has an infinite amount of cool, but a deadly serious lack of fun. - See more at: http://www.gamecritics.com/brad-gallaway/kingdom-hearts-review#sthash.qqivFHpI.dpuf

This is just the first step of realizing what the combination of truly amazing companies can accomplish. Although the game’s graphics and music were as incredible as you can expect from these two very professional companies, the actual gameplay does get a tiny bit repetitive at times. Overall, Kingdom Hearts manages to be an incredible game and definitely another one that stands out from the other humdrum releases on the shelves as of late.

The game as a whole shows some loose ends hanging here and there, things like that Gummi Ship that just don't seem to justify their existence properly. Given the size of this project, though, the number of disparate elements needing to be crammed together, and the huge variety of cooks stirring the soup from both the Square and Disney sides, it's amazing that this has a single end sewn up tight, never mind that it turned into such an engaging adventure. If you like Square, or if you like Disney, or if you'd just like to check out an impressive action-RPG, Kingdom Hearts should be at the top of your list this fall.

Kingdom Hearts is still great, largely because it successfully captures the spirit of both Square and Disney in a single game. The way it pulls this off can't be described as easily as it can be experienced, so if you find the idea the least bit intriguing and are willing to put up with a few shortcomings in the gameplay, then you should give Kingdom Hearts a try. Like the Disney cartoons that inspired the game, it can be recommended to pretty much anybody.

Hey, I'll admit it; I had my doubts about how Kingdom Hearts would turn out. It's the gaming industry's version of The Odd Couple -- Square and Disney -- but the combo couldn't have turned out better. I mean that. I really don't think anyone else could have woven as complex and enthralling a story into such enjoyable gameplay and kept it as true to both Square and especially Disney fans.
