The Timeless N64 classic returns The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time reveals the genesis of the fantasy land of Hyrule, the origin of the Triforce, and the tale of the first exploits of Princess Zelda and the heroic adventurer Link. Vibrant, real-time 3-D graphics transport you into the fantasy world of Hyrule. Your quest takes you through dense forests and across wind-whipped deserts. Swim raging rivers, climb treacherous mountains, dash on horseback across rolling hills, and delve into dungeons full of creatures that fight to the finish to put an end to your adventures. With immersive graphics, a sweeping story line, swashbuckling adventure, mind-bending puzzles, and a touch of humor, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of Nintendo's most epic challenges ever.

Absolutely my favorite game on the N64. Classic for all time. Be careful during the water temple though, as you can get stuck due to key order.

Really great game, and I can see why they would want to revamp and remake it, but they are overdoing it at this point. Too much of a good thing going.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an enjoyable game from start to finish. There’s no arguing that. And unlike a lot of games, the dungeons seem to just keep getting better and better, even the last dungeon is a blast and the boss fight and ending NEED to be experienced by every gamer on the face of this planet. On top of that, the game is absolutely packed with content it and it’s virtually guaranteed that you will not get everything on your first play through the game without using a strategy guide. Ocarina of Time is a fun game, whether you are just doing side-quests and mini-games or completing the main quest. It’s definitely worthy of the highest mark.

The old-school gameplay of The Legend of Zelda was not flipped upside-down when Ocarina of Time came out. The translation to a new console and new controller was smooth, and Link adapted to his 3D world just fine. Ocarina of Time is remembered today not because of its dungeons, or its control scheme, or any of the nuts and bolts of its design. It was a game that went beyond the standards; it became more than the sum of its parts. The world of Hyrule was a fascinating place to explore, and its sense of connectivity is what keeps Ocarina of Time a bastion of adventure gaming.

There's a reason that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games ever created and it won't take you long to find out why that is. The game takes everything that was great about the Zelda series and somehow manages to bring it all into the world of 3-D graphics without a single hitch. Not only that, but the developers have also managed to add enough new elements to make the game truly stand out from the previous releases in the series. Ocarina of Time is honestly as close to video game perfection as you can get and an absolute must-play for any video game fan.

There are certain moments here that are pure magic, moments that truly grab the player and make you show emotion and pride. I could go on about the games other features that make it so great, but quite frankly why should I? What I have said already is easily enough to make this one of the best games ever, but the fact that is offers so much more than all the competition is a true measure of how special this game is.

That Miyamoto has spent more time on this project than other under-nourished 64bit updates such as Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Story is more than palpable – Ocarina of Time shapes up as arguably the most accomplished game to have ever come out of the studios of NCL, and is reason enough to buy a Nintendo 64 in itself. Most importantly, though, the game singlehandedly restores the faith in both the creative might of Nintendo and in the power of the videogame as an entertainment medium. A work of genius.

In the gameplay department, the gap between Nintendo's in-house development and third party titles becomes painfully clear. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time should be recommended playing for ever aspiring videogame designer and programmer out there. If you're making games and you haven't played this game, then you're like a director who has never seen Citizen Kane or a musician who has never heard of Mozart. If you're a gamer looking for your next title to buy, then take it from me, this is as good as it's going to get for a looooong time.

Even if you're specifically looking for it, it's hard to find fault in Ocarina of Time. OK, to be fair, there's a slight bit of slowdown in a couple locations, such as the water temple, but it isn't frequent or harmful enough to even matter. The game offers a nice challenge, a stunningly well-told story, and the gameplay to back it all up. This game is the real thing. This is the masterpiece that people will still be talking about ten years down the road. This is the game that perfectly exhibits the ""quality not quantity"" mantra that Nintendo has been touting since the N64 was released. In a word, perfect. To call it anything else would be a bald-faced lie.
