FROM THE AWARD-WINNING CREATORS OF CIVILIZATION COMES AN ACTION-STRATEGY GAME ABOUT HUMANITY?S LAST STAND. Threatened by an unknown enemy, the Earth?s governments unite to form an elite paramilitary organization, known as XCOM, to combat this extraterrestrial attack. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a great game for the iPad. Despite some restrictions, Enemy Unknown is a great addition for the iPad. It has the same level of tactical movements as its brothers for the consoles.

Everything that we knew about the console version has been brought over with love, affection and a true knowledge of how to use the touch-screen, as well as the sheer power of the iPad, to its absolute potential...XCOM: Enemy Unknown isn’t just one of the best iPad games available, it’s one of the best games available, full stop.

The conversion for iPad of XCOM is an extremely successful work: a great opportunity for Apple users who have not yet played the masterpiece from Firaxis.

It’s surely missing some of the finer details from the PC and console versions, but now thanks to 2K and Firaxis, we can save mankind from alien annihilation, even when on the toilet.

Despite the lack of multiplayer (we expect this to be added in future updates) XCOM: Enemy Unknown offers an astronomical amount of content, spanning more than one genre. Having said that, the game is not without problems. Game-breaking bugs are frequent and frustrating when they befall you during important missions.

Quite possibly the best game on the App Store. Its twenty dollar price tag may seem a bit high, but the amount of detail and polish makes it easily worth the price.

A game that looks very nearly as good as did on my Xbox 360 and in some ways plays even better, thanks in large part to intuitive touch screen controls that prove a fine fit for the game’s turn-based action.

XCOM sets a new standard for iOS games and is worth every penny.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is an absolute must buy that officially has changed the entire iOS platform, and our expectations going forward.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown controls perfectly on the iPad. The touch controls for the camera, the soldiers, and choosing commands are all intuitively designed and responsive.
